WSL World Junior Champion Kirra Pinkerton joins Ryan Simmons to talk how the championship is sinking in, her surfing plans for 2019, and all things Rail to Rail.
Seal Beach native Ryan Simmons is a second generation surfer and former World Surf League athlete. He competed on the WSL WQS tour from 1994-2003. During his career, Simmons racked up 3 WQS victories, 2 US Tour Championships, and just missed qualification for the WCT twice by one heat at the World Cup at Sunset Beach, Hawaii. After his pro career concluded, Simmons coached the USA Surf Team from 2012-2016. Under Simmons, the team claimed America’s first Gold Medal at the 2015 ISA World Juniors, first ever Gold Medal at the Aloha Cup in the 2016 World Games, two Bronze medals in the ISA World Games, and a Bronze in the ISA Masters. Nowadays, you can find him privately coaching aspiring talent, announcing surf events around the world, and here on Bleav talking all things surfing.
