The Growing Impact of Women in Sports Media

Last week, Seton Hall University’s new Center for Sports Media hosted the College of Communication and the Arts latest event in the Sports Media Speaker Series entitled “Rising Talent: How Women Are Slowly But Importantly Playing Larger Roles in Sports Media.” Co-hosted by NFL Network on-air reporter Aditi Kinkhabwala and ESPN legend and Seton Hall alum Bob Ley with Professional In Residence B.J. Schecter, the panel included ESPN NFL and NBA on-air journalist Lisa Salters, ESPN Executive Vice President, Event and Studio Production Stephanie Druley, and Sacramento Kings television analyst Kayte Christensen-Hunter. The journalists shared their fears, successes, and strategies for continuing to grow professionally while adding to the ranks of female analysts, producers, and play-by-play announcers.
