Bungie – The End Is Near

The latest Bungie news comes from IGN about a director change along with Marathon gameplay changes. There is also the looming threat of more Bungie layoffs if Destiny 2 The Final Shape release is not strong enough. Internally they have also cancelled a handful of projects. The recent Destiny 2 Into The Light stream is an attempt to increase interest in The Final Shape, but will it be enough? Apparently Bungie leadership is planning on leaving in 2026 after the PlayStation acquisition final payout lands putting pressure on the Marathon release date. Bungie, Inc. is an American video game company based in Bellevue, Washington, and a subsidiary of Sony Interactive Entertainment. The company was established in May 1991 by Alex Seropian, who later brought in programmer Jason Jones after publishing Jones's game Minotaur: The Labyrinths of Crete.
