Blayne Gilmer of Southeastern 14 breaks down what the Florida Gators need to do to take down Utah on the road. The main centerpiece is going to be Graham Mertz. There are a couple of trends that Mertz is going to have to reverse in order for Florida's offense to be efficient versus a very tough and talented Kyle Whittingham-coached Utah defense. Utah will do everything possible to shut down the Gators' running game with Trevor Ettiene and Montrell Johnson. It will be on Mertz to make plays and elevate the level of play of the Florida receiving core.
The offensive line for South Carolina is going to be the barometer for the Gamecocks in their opener vs. North Carolina in Charlotte. Spencer Rattler has weapons on the outside in Juice Wells, Nyck Harbor, Xavier Leggette, Ahmarean Brown, and also Trey Knox at tight end. However, South Carolina could struggle to run the ball with only Dakereyon Joyner and Juju McDowell at running back. The offensive line must get movement and help South Carolina run the ball efficiently in order to help offensive coordinator Dowell Loggains provide balance for Spencer Rattler and the South Carolina offense.
